
Move-Out Checklist
Moving can be stressful, so here is a checklist to help you out
1. Submit Your Formal Move Out Notice

Provide a written notice 60 days in advance through the resident portal, including your planned move-out date.

You may move out before the lease ends but must vacate by noon on the lease end date.
​
2. Send Us Your Forwarding Address
Enter your new forwarding address in the resident portal to receive your security deposit refund check.

Note: Refund checks can only be sent to a forwarding address and cannot be picked up in person.
3. Complete Your Change of Address
Ensure you continue receiving your mail by updating your address with USPS. Use this link to forward your mail.
4. Transfer Your Utilities
Call utilities providers to arrange transfer to your new address after you move out.
Remember: Utilities must remain on for the move-out inspection. If moving out on a holiday or weekend, arrange to end service the next business day..
5. Maximize Your Security Deposit Refund
Review your lease for property upkeep responsibilities. Access your lease in the resident portal’s documents section.

Check the Cleaning and Property Condition Expectations checklist and the Wear and Tear vs. Damages document to understand what could impact your deposit refund.
6. Handling Keys and Remotes
Leave all keys, garage door remotes, and other items on the kitchen countertop. Dispose of any key required for locking the house when departing.
7. Vacating the Property
Vacate by noon on your lease end date. Ensure all exterior doors and windows are locked. If a key is necessary for locking up, it must be disposed of.
Tenants are not allowed to be present during the move-out inspection and cannot re-enter the property after the lease expires or after surrendering the property.
Failure to vacate by the lease end date will incur a daily charge at three times the monthly rental rate.
8. Receive Your Security Deposit
Your security deposit refund check will be mailed to your provided forwarding address within 30 days of the surrender date.
